Bio
I am a general adult psychiatrist working with patients with a variety of mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and trauma-related disorders. I was drawn to psychiatry because of the opportunity to form strong therapeutic alliances with patients, with time to consider the many factors that can influence mental health, including social connections, sources of meaning, sleep, nutrition, physical activity, physical health, and socioeconomic dynamics. I approach my job with curiosity and humility, working with patients collaboratively to identify goals and develop individualized treatment plans. I use various treatment modalities in my practice, including psychotherapy (primarily cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy), pharmacotherapy (i.e., the use of medications), and ketamine therapy.
Some of my interests include treatment-resistant depression, bipolar disorder, metabolic psychiatry, reproductive psychiatry, helping people simplify or de-prescribe medications, and helping people navigate professional burnout. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, cooking, and dancing.
