Bay Psychiatric is not in-network with Medi-Cal in general. Alameda Alliance is the exception currently listed; choose Alameda Alliance if that is your plan.
Insurance questions
What if my insurance company isn't listed at all?
We see out-of-network patients and can give you a superbill to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. The list also changes as contracts are signed, so call us if you are not sure where your company stands.
How do you handle prior authorizations?
We handle prior authorization for TMS, Spravato, ECT, and other treatments that require it. IM and IV ketamine are used off-label, so coverage is more plan-specific; we verify your benefits and give you a written estimate before treatment. Most patients only need to sign a release.
What about my copay or deductible?
Your responsibility depends on your specific plan. We verify benefits before your first appointment and discuss any expected out-of-pocket costs upfront.
Do you offer self-pay options?
Yes. Our staff will confirm self-pay rates with you. We can also provide a superbill to submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes. Both HSA and FSA funds can be used for psychiatric care, including copays, deductibles, and self-pay visits.
