Kara Wang, MD

I earned my medical degree from UCSF and completed my psychiatry residency with the County of San Mateo. What I love most about psychiatry is being able to really understand what someone is going through—sadness, grief, rage, joy, and everything in between—and use that understanding to provide healing. I am committed to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care, with a particular interest in supporting BIPOC communities. I offer both medication management and, as availability allows, therapy tailored to your needs. I believe that while suffering is an inevitable part of being human, making space for it with curiosity and compassion can allow for growth and meaning-making—which, to me, is one of the most beautiful parts of being human.
