Kara Wang, MD

I earned my medical degree from UCSF and completed my psychiatry residency with the County of San Mateo. I work with adults seeking help with various psychiatric illnesses, including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma related disorders, OCD, psychotic disorders, and more. I am committed to providing inclusive, culturally responsive care, with a particular interest in supporting BIPOC communities. I offer both medication management and, as availability allows, therapy of various modalities including psychodynamic and IFS informed therapy. I believe that while suffering is an inevitable part of being human, making space for it with curiosity and compassion can allow for growth and meaning-making—which, to me, is one of the most beautiful parts of being human.
